Carolyn, always ready with a Joke for us.  2019

A Tribute to our dear friend and storytelling sister

Carolyn Martino

Carolyn was a loyal daughter, loving sister, awesome teacher, wonderful actress and fabulous storyteller. She opened her home on General Street in Providence to the Little Rest Storytellers, encouraging new tellers and supporting established tellers as they tried out new material in front of a delighted group of peers.

Carolyn entertained legions of children and their parents during the many Summer Reading programs she developed and shared. Her telling of The Nutcracker, Evening of Italian Stories, and her redemptive autobiographical tale, Masks, are all shining examples of her ability to put together a program and her extraordinary talent for knowing what works.

She held audiences of all ages spell-bound from Maine to Florida and developed educational programs for schools with The Tapestry Tellers.

Carolyn was fortunate to spend her last few years under the loving care of her dear friends Kiki and Katie Latimer, their families and pets. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

We hope you will come to Girl's Night Out with a comment, story or memory of our dear friend. We will be sharing some adventures we had together that you may not know about.
